Visit Orange Beach
Our trips over to Orange Beach, Alabama are a sure crowd pleaser. If you’re looking for something to do with your friends and family this is a great option. This is about a forty to fifty mile trip depending on where you want to go and there’s a fairly long no wake zone when going through Perdido Key so you can expect about an hour and a half boat ride when traveling from Pensacola.
If you have young kids The Wharf or Lulu’s are a great option. The Wharf is amazing and there is something for everyone of all ages. You will find great restaurants, shopping, and numerous activities for the kids. A little further down the Intercoastal Waterway is Lulu’s, the local restaurant owed by Jimmy Buffets sister. It’s a full-service restaurant, marina, and has tons of activities to keep the kids busy.
Speaking of Jimmy Buffet, he’s actually from Mobile, Alabama, which is just north of Orange Beach. Of course, we all know Jimmy enjoys popping into a local bar and two of his favorites are in the area and both are accessible by boat. The Florabama, which is located on the Florida Alabama state line is a must visit and Pirates Cove is a little rough around the edges, but have an amazing burger and atmosphere.
